What a good time STAR Days was in Chattanooga, TN this year.  Chapter 317 took the largest contingent ever to a STAR Days event in 2007.   It rained here and thereespecially the day of our departure for home, and a day or two in betweenand on the way downbut most of our attendees had a great time and worked around the inconvenience of being wet from time-to-time.

Some of the Chapter stayed close to home.  Others chose to take a group ride or two on their own through the horse country.  One bunch decided to trek to the Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum where they were thrilled by indoor burn-outs by the owner.  And it was done on vintage motorcycles.

Some members camped out, others were in the host hotel, and some were in areas of town that required regular police monitoring.  (Not for 317 members, of course.)

And there was the white water rafting trip that Peter Duke Jansen arranged.  Another great day with lots of fun and instead of the rain falling down, it was spraying up.  Those who rode the bull continued the 317 Chapter tradition of never shying away from a challenge.  Hee-Haw!!

The Feed the Children ride was, as always, rewarding.  Families who benefit from the STAR National charity surely werent disappointed.  And I, for one, am heartened by the work we do for the needy.

Riding along the Cherohala Parkway or up the Dragon was simply wonderful.  Spending evenings sharing stories of the days activity provided a needed respite from the time in the saddle and an opportunity to get to know each other all that much better.

John McDonald served as our Road Captain and did an outstanding job with Marilyn strapped firmly between his legs.  Even to the point of rearranging hotel rooms on the return trip to more fully meet our needs for clean AND comfortable surroundings.  What a spoiled bunch we are!

And, of course, there are both the Chapter members and our friends who joined in the ride.  Good folks all!
